Double-row cylindrical roller bearing

For decades, cylindrical roller bearings have stood the test in wheel bearing supports of all types of rail vehicles. Successive further development has ensured that their efficiency has been optimized to meet the requirements of modern railway vehicles.

Cylindrical roller bearings are particularly suitable for supporting high radial loads. The usual axial loads are supported by WJ/WJP standard design. FAG cylindrical roller bearings have a modified linear contact between the rollers and the raceway to prevent edge stresses.

Single-row cylindrical roller bearings offer an advantage over other conventional bearing designs because of how easy they are to dismantle in the inner and outer rings with a roller and cage assembly. This means that the user is offered practical benefits with regards to assembly, dismantling, maintenance and inspection.

Cylindrical roller bearings in wheelset bearings are principally used in two main configurations:

  • 2 single-row cylindrical roller bearings as a bearing set
  • 1 single-row cylindrical roller bearing as a ready-to-mount unit

Double-row cylindrical roller bearing units have an integrated seal, are greased and are delivered ready to mount.
